‘Make an extraordinary effort’ ~Buddha When you don’t want to have a baby you have to look at how a baby is made and where it comes from....ok there are protective measures in place such as contraception to reduce the chances of becoming pregnant but would you disagree in saying to perfectly remove the chances of having a baby if you don’t want one would be not to have sex? Similarly with the mind and to perfectly make it impregnable. Instead of using psychology (contraception) to prevent negative thoughts from arising isn’t it better to stop them at their inception using spirituality and going within? Tattooed for war... and for peace. A concept that may be familiar to many of you protector and independent types. I’m not sure when I decided on the intense red-energy tattoos—they are blue/UV light reactive and glow in the twilight—but I think it was the result of my internal restlessness and intensity. A reflection of my quiet focus but willingness to stand my ground if necessary. A balance between meditation and unrestrained savagery. Every culture has had a rich history of tattoo art, and these are not really modeled off of any particular one, as I don’t subscribe to any particular one (more of a collective of the best ideas I have come across). No any one culture has the universe figured out, but collectively, there are common themes that clue us into the true nature of the reality that we perceive. In college, my field placement was in Harm Reduction at an organization that provided services of those living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. There was this kind person that came in at least once a month and provided the employees and students Reiki. This was my first experience with Reiki. I had no idea what energy healing was or what reiki was at the time but I thought why not give it a try. During the session, the practitioner spent a lot of time of my heart space, it was heavy and dense. (I was in a unhealthy relationship at that time that laid heavy on my heart). It was interesting to me that they were guided to my heart space without me saying a word about the heartache. The session ended and I went on with life. Fast forward a few years. I was having lunch with a friend, she spoke about Reiki and how it could be helpful. She connected me to another practitioner and thats when things changed. I had a few soul awakening healing sessions. Began to become very intrigued by this healing modality and eventually sought out training. My initial intention was to be attuned to Reiki to further help myself heal and overtime I began providing sessions for friends and family. Reiki has changed my life, energy healing has changed my life. Understanding that we are so much more than a physical being has been the liberation in healing I sought for so long. I am grateful for the experiences that have led me to this space, to begin offering my services to others. To help others heal. HOW DID I GET HERE AND WHY AM I DOING THIS? 🦋 I had to hit rock bottom to get my wake up call to be where I am today. 🦋 I grew up eating a typical SAD DIET (Standard American Diet), these foods didn’t help me fight through all the emotional issues I was trying to cope with. I started to feel chronically fatigued, chronic body aches, and debilitating depression. I kept seeking answers from my doctor only to be told time and time again…. “it’s all in your head, you’re as healthy as they come” Years later, I finally got some kind of diagnoses, but not what I was looking for… I was told I had cancerous cells growing in my uterus that were rapidly growing went from stage 1 to stage 2 in a matter of a month, that was my wake up call! 🦋 I now know it was a combination of everything that was going on in my life, the people that I was surrounding myself with. I was surrounding myself with unhealthy relationships, I had no idea how to nourish my body. I was living off sugar, fast food. I had no idea about health. I was drinking and partying to numb the pain, as a single mother, I was burning the candle at both ends, and every area in my life felt like it was falling apart there was no area that was ok. it’s not like I could say well at least I have my friendships. I felt like I had nothing. I was in and out of the doctors office either for me or my son for his asthma and me with different reactions and unbearable pain… 🦋 My unexpected diagnoses was my rock bottom that I needed to wake up! I believe it was the universe telling me “Stop! look at what you’re doing to yourself!” I was also dealing with the emotional side of it battling depression for me this was definitely rock bottom, but there was this tiny little voice in my belly I didn’t know what this was at the time but looking back this was my intuition and it said to me “if you sort yourself out, if you get yourself healthy and happy again. You will live an amazing life” When you are in the darkest point in your life you have two choices give up or hold on to that hope. 🦋 I soon realized I was responsible for getting myself there and I was the only one who could get myself out.
